The journey of Muungano arabica begins at 2,000 metres altitude on the hills of Kiniezire, continues through the washing stations on the shores of Lake Kivu, and ends in the world's finest roasteries:
- Harvest (March–July): manual selection of ripe cherries by producers
- Processing at the washing station: pulping, fermentation, washing, drying (21–30 days)
- Storage at the Kiniezire storehouse in parchment coffee conditioned in GrainPro bags
- Transport to Goma (DRC) for hulling and sorting
- Shipment from the port of Mombasa (Kenya) in refrigerated containers
- Delivery to partner roasters in Europe, the United States and Japan
